A one-off performance as part of the 16th International G&S Festival held at the wonderful opera house in Buxton, Derbyshire. The most popular Gilbert and Sullivan opera, "The Mikado" has delighted audiences for more than a century and we are confident that our traditionally-styled production will do the same. The town of Titipu is the setting for the typically-tangled love story of the disguised son of the Emperor and the ward of the Lord High Executioner. Including a jilted lady not to be trifled with, a faked execution, a pompous politician and some silly maids from school the story is outrageously entertaining and, as usual, everything is underpinned with some great Sullivan music.
